 Clarence
T. Emms, 66, a landscape irrigator, died Thursday, Oct. 9, 2003, in
Fort Worth.Memorial service:
3:30 p.m. Tuesday in Greenwood Chapel, with Pastor Joe Bruce as
celebrant. Visitation: 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Greenwood Funeral Home
where family and friends can come together to share remembrances and
celebrate the joy of his life.
Bearers of the casket will be Bill
Hall, Robert Brown, Thomas Emms, Samuel Loughry, Bradford Irvin and
Mitchell Renfro.
Memorials: Should friends desire,
memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or the TCU
Alumni Association.
Clarence was born May 30, 1937, in
Dallas to Clarence T. Emms Sr. and Marie Brey Emms. Reared in Fort
Worth, Clarence graduated from Arlington Heights High School and
received a bachelor of science degree from TCU. He met the love of his
life, Michelle Loughry, as a teen-ager in Fort Worth and spent 45
wonderful years together as husband and wife. A resident of Fort Worth
most of his life, he was a licensed landscape irrigator for 45 years.
He was commissioned by the governor of Texas as a member of the Texas
State Board of Landscape Architects in 1978.
Known as Clarence, C.T., "PawPaw" or
just plain Dad, his family was the center of life. All who knew and
loved him will sorely miss his colorful stories of life experiences.
His memberships included Sigma Chi
Fraternity, Arlington Heights Masonic Lodge #1184, Moslah Shrine
Mounted Patrol and past president of the Texas Turf Irrigation
Association.
After sharing a lifetime filled with
happy and loving experiences, he slipped out of time into eternity
with his family by his side. His family and those whose lives he
touched will never forget the joy he gave them.
Clarence was preceded in death by his
parents, Clarence and Marie Emms.
Survivors: Wife of 45 years,
Michelle Emms; son, Clarence "Chip" Emms III and his wife, Hillery;
daughters, Camilla Simpson and husband, Derek, and Laura Nettleton and
husband, Paul; grandchildren, Michelle Gouge, Tyler Emms, Rachelle
Gouge, Stefan Simpson, Chelsea Emms, Whitney Emms, Madison Nettleton,
Lauren Nettleton, Douglas Gouge, Hayden Nettleton and Mary Catherine
Emms; brother, Alex Emms and wife, Winter; several nieces and nephews;
and many dear friends.
